A very helpful video- for the Church in these times

I found this wonderful interview on Thabiti Anyabwile’s Pure Church site. The interview is of Rosaria Butterfield a former English professor at Syracuse University. She was a lesbian who found Jesus (He found her) after reading the Bible as research for a book on the Religious Right. It is long, but so good. Two things I want to point to—the Bible is wondrously upheld in its inspiration. The other is how the church can best bring the gospel to the LBGT community.  That includes friendship.

Butterfield has written a book, The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert. I have ordered it and will write a review after I after I have read the book.

The interviewer is Marvin Olasky of World Magazine. Enjoy!

Thank you, Viola, for posting this. These are the things the church needs to listen. The churches need to stop listening and talking to Janet Edwards and those in the More Lights. They have heard the Word and have chosen to serve darkness. God turns them over to their own ways and we need to be removed from them.
I say this because are all too often not listened to and treated just as poorly by the orthodox as we are by the More Lights because the orthodox have been more concerned about not wanting to offend the likes of Janet Edwards, giving her voice yet do not give us any because the truth we speak is burning.
I continue to share the need for us to be obedient to what Paul told us in I Corinthians 5. We need to remember what Paul wrote in Romans 1. The More Lights have been turned over by God. We need to turn away from those that have been turned over by God that claim to be our brothers and sisters yet do not repent of their sins but boast and celebrate their sin as being good.
I appreciate you have become more guarded in your blog to protect it from their lies that are so dark. I know all too well the depths of their darkness that I have wrestled. I will continue to warn others of them and their evilness for they are wolves that seek to devour the sheep. Look what the More Lights and their friends have already done to the PCUSA, the Episcopals, the ECLA and UCC. They lie. They always lie for darkness is not of God and never speaks with truth. Their very existence was one of disobedience in which they worked to break the unity of the church by dividing it. They accomplished that goal and now they are going to devour those who do not flee.
Stand firm in God's truth found in His Word.

Chas Jay,

I believe this is about befriending when you can those in the LGBT community and seeking to lead them to scriptures and Christ. Yes, there are wolves seeking to tear the sheep, both LGBT ones and those who are not LGBT. But that is not what this is about.
